EPF Referee Academy in alignment with
- European Pickleball Federation exclusively aligns with USA Pickleball’s Officiating policies and best practices for the purpose of establishing one global pickleball referee standard for the sport of pickleball .
- USAP exclusively aligns with EPF (and its affiliate country members) as the sole organization(s) issuing referee credentials in Europe.
- Our goal is to have consistent training and rules across Europe to make the path to the Olympics easier.
- USAP will support EPF with translations of all referee and officiating documents.
- Both certifying bodies have agreed on standard and reciprocate referee credential levels and testing requirements needed to achieve these levels.
- Level 1 Referees have a solid understanding of the game, enabling them to manage most on-court situations effectively while maintaining the match’s flow. They are knowledgeable about handling disputes, distractions/hinders and timeouts.
- Level 2 Referees possess advanced officiating skills, gained through experience at multiple national tournaments, including medal matches. They are committed to ongoing development and play a mentoring role for less experienced referees.
- Certified Referees hold the highest credential, officiating all levels of play, including professional matches. The certification process is rigorous, ensuring that referees meet the highest standards of officiating. Certified referees are recognized for their expertise and take great pride in their achievements.
